  8. This archive contains binary, source and documentation of
  9. mCWEB -- a descendant of the CWEB system of structured
  10. documentation by Donald E. Knuth and Silvio Levy -- that
  11. adds some features that are indispensable when working in a
  12. team. mCWEB regards a project as a book consisting of several
  13. chapter files. By means of import and export commands, it
  14. automatically manages all relationships between the chapters of a
  15. book and to other books.

  17. Interface Documentation is now part of the mCWEB file and can be
  18. extracted into a second TeX file. This allows to define well
  19. known interfaces between the individual parts of a project that will be
  20. implemented by different persons.

  22. mCWEB is a real extension to CWEB which means that all of the
  23. original code is part of mCWEB. mCWEB's command set is a superset
  24. of CWEB's commands. mCWEB is backwards compatible so that you can
  25. also translate old-style CWEB programs.
